How Fintonic turns 30% of loan conversations into applications, on ChatGPT and on its own site
Fintonic is Spain's largest loan marketplace, with more than 40 lending partners. In June 2026 it launched a loan simulator inside ChatGPT that gives a real monthly payment and rate, then brought the same agent to fintonic.com in August. Today about 30% of the people who start a conversation on fintonic.com finish a simulation and click through to apply.

of conversations on fintonic.com end in a finished simulation and a click to apply
Waniwani platform data, October 2026, test sessions excluded. A click to apply is counted when the user opens Fintonic's pre-filled application form, not when a loan is granted.
Challenge
Fintonic could see that a small but growing share of its traffic, about 1%, came from AI assistants, but had no way to tell what those people had asked or what they were told. When someone asked ChatGPT "how much can I borrow?", the answer came back with no rate, no lender and no next step.
On its own site the problem was the opposite. The loan request flow ran to 27 screens, and many visitors left before they ever saw a price.
"This launch is not an innovation experiment. It is a response to very concrete data," wrote Leyre Pérez San José, Fintonic's Chief Growth Officer, when the app went live.
Solution
Waniwani and Fintonic built a loan simulator on top of Fintonic's pricing. In ChatGPT the user gives the amount, the term and the few factors behind Fintonic's credit score, and gets back a monthly payment and an annual rate (TAE) for their score band. If no lender would make an offer, the app says so plainly. A button then opens Fintonic's application form with the simulation already filled in.
No personal data is collected in the chat. That was a legal requirement from day one, and Fintonic's head of compliance reviewed the contract terms before signature. Consent is asked before any data is stored, and retention is capped at 36 months.
The build started on 15 April and the app went live in Spain on 9 June. Getting there took an OpenAI business identity check with Fintonic's CEO, and later updates were rejected twice by OpenAI before going through. ChatGPT and Claude also needed different wording for the same tools.
In August the same agent went live on fintonic.com, first inside the page and later as a floating bar that follows the visitor. That gave Fintonic a short, conversational path to a price next to its 27-screen form.
Results
On fintonic.com, the share of conversations that end in a finished simulation and a click to apply rose to about 30% in October. The floating bar, added around 20 October, put the agent in front of far more visitors.
"We anticipate that, in the coming months, 10% of our credit applications may come from artificial intelligence platforms," Fintonic's CEO Armando Baquero said at launch.
“With this launch, we're making it easier for people to understand their borrowing options and take action in the moment without jumping between apps and tabs. It's the start of a new interface for consumer credit: conversational, personalised, and immediate.”
